The Iconic Skull and Dagger also known as the Ray Bones Rodriguez pro model was originally Illustrated by artists Vernon Courtland Johnson in 1979 for Powell Peralta Skateboards. In this era Powell was unique is being a pioneer to produce unique graphics for their pro skaters.
This reimagined Skull and Chucks graphic as a collaboration for D-R-G-N and Bruce Lee was the brainchild of artist and Powell skateboarder Steve Saiz. The Concept was then refined by original artist Vernon Courtland Johnson and applied on a classic 70s deck with pearled and embossed dragon scale details giving the board and incredibly unique finish.
Powell Peralta is a legendary name in the skateboarding world, rooted in a culture that has defined the sport for decades. Founded in 1978 by skate visionary George Powell and pro-skater Stacy Peralta, Powell Peralta was known for pushing the limits in design and performance the brand introduced innovations that would forever change the industry, from groundbreaking wheel technology to high-performance decks that could withstand the rigors of aggressive riding. In addition their prominent graphics, color stories, and artistic eye gave new meaning to a sport that helped define the culture.
