The first martial arts school founded by Bruce Lee in the 1960's was in Seattle, where he was a college student at the University of Washington. He named it the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute (which translates to Bruce Lee’s Gung Fu Institute). Bruce would go on to open two more schools (Oakland and Los Angeles). The institute was not so much a place to learn how to fight as a place in which to learn about yourself and the freedom of expression you were capable of in this world.
