Watch Specifications:

Bruce Lee created the Core Symbol as a representation of the culmination of his own self cultivation. This symbol is the final in a series of four that show this progression. The stages of cultivation are:

Partiality (represented at 3:00 on the watch) is the compartmentalized man. You have lots of extremes and you are trying lots of different things. Bruce’s symbol for this stage was the two halves of the yin yang, separate, not touching, and without the circle in each half. He called it the running to extremes.

Fluidity (represented at 6:00 on the watch) is when you can take what happens as it comes. Bruce Lee called this two halves of one whole and his symbol was the complete yin yang with two arrows going around the yin yang. This symbolized that these two halves are always relating, we’re always in a place of totality.

Emptiness (represented at 9:00 on the watch and purposefully left blank), the third stage of cultivation, was called the formless form. This is when you exist in a stage of natural response and you let go of all technique.

The final symbol that represents Jeet Kune Do and Bruce Lee's approach to life is a full yin yang symbol surrounded by arrows. The arrows represent the constant interplay of the complements of yin and yang. Finally the Chinese phrase surrounding the symbol translates to: using no way as way, having no limitation as limitation.
